Pantalones

we leave for thailand in 27 days. we seem to be taking a fairly stereotypical backpacker approach for this trip. i went out and spent $80 on light airy pants that should help keep my washington state birth blood cool whilst i get hit with the hot humidity bomb known as south east asia. granted these pants will never be worn back in the states, ill look like one of the tribe sitting on khao san road drinking a chang beer with a plate of pad thai and recently purchased (insert buddhist or hindu religous figure) wood carving. to go even further to fit this mold, i have purchased the 2008 Lonely Planet for Thailand which im sure we'll be citing quite frequently when bartering for 16 hour click clack sleeper trains and being extorted by commission hungry tuk tuk drivers.

were still debating the southern islands while in thailand for fear of being overwhelmed by large white uk'ers and nasty old sexpats in speedos, etc. hopefully we can find some charm down there. i think im mostly looking forward to the more northern sites: chiang mai, ayutthaya, and hopefully our side trip to either the Angkor ruins outside Siem Reap, Cambodia or a possible jaunt over the friendship bridge into Laos.

for friends, family, lurkers, etc. im going to do all me 'keeping in touch' and picture posting through this blog, so in case you do not speak french, the small words below this post entitled 'vos commentaires' is where you can click and leave me comments, ask questions, or talk shit.

i still need a new back pack and ear plugs. on it.
